Civil Cases:

• Dan Estrada initiated a wrongful death case against the United States Department of Defense when a young Hispanic boy, Esequiel Hernandez, was gunned down by a group of U.S. Marines who were on the U.S.-Mexican border assisting the Border Patrol. The young boy was a U.S. citizen who was herding the family goats when the Marine unit in full camouflage opened fire and killed the unsuspecting youth without provocation. The Government eventually settled with the Hernandez family.
• In a “defective product liability” case – against NISSAN Motor Company--a post-crash deployment of an air bag seriously and permanently blinded our client, Mr. Ray, after being struck in the face by the air bag, Estrada Law persuaded NISSAN to settle the case for a significant cash settlement before the lawsuit went to trial.
• In Liberty County, Texas, a tractor-trailer truck owned by Wendland Farm Products was stopped across a curved country road without any warning signs posted resulting in oncoming traffic running under the truck’s trailer, Estrada Law persuaded the attorneys for the Defendant Company to pay his client, Genaro Carrillo, One Million Dollars before the lawsuit went to trial.
• Dan Estrada has represented thousands of clients since 1991 settling millions of dollars in personal injury cases and prevailing in many jury trial verdicts across the State of Texas.

Criminal Cases:

• Estrada Law has represented clients in the lower Appellate Courts, the Texas Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeals and has successfully reversed his clients’ criminal convictions.
• In May, 2007, in Milam County, Texas, Dan Estrada represented his client, Jose Hernandez, in the first case ever filed in Texas involving an owner of a dog being prosecuted for homicide, referred to as the “Texas Dog-Mauling Trial” when Mr. Hernandez was accused of criminal negligent homicide for owning six mix-breed pit bull-rottweiler dogs that escaped their fenced area attacking and killing his neighbor, Lillian Stiles. Dan Estrada argued the case before a 12 member jury (with no Hispanics on the jury) over a one week period and persuaded the jury to render a “Not Guilty” verdict.
